If inSSIDer says No WiFi Adapters Detected when you start the application, that means that a wireless adapter is not present, or is disabled.
But What if I Have a Wi-Spy?
inSSIDer Office needs both a Wi-Spy and a WiFi adapter to scan for networks. You can find out more about the Wi-Spy/WiFi adapter relationship here.
Troubleshooting
1. Ensure that your computer is equipped with a WiFi adapter/wireless LAN adapter. While most laptops have a WiFi adapter, many desktop computers do not. If you don't have a WiFi adapter, see the WiFi Adapter Buyer's Guide below.
Note: A router connected via ethernet does not count as a WiFi adapter. It is not possible to scan for networks through a router connected via ethernet. A WiFi adapter is required to scan for networks.
2. Make sure the adapter isn't disabled in Windows
3. Make sure the adapter isn't turned off with a physical switch on your laptop.
If you still aren't able to scan for wireless networks, contact MetaGeek support.
