First, Download Air Viewer
Air Viewer is available on Apple's iOS App Store and Google's Android Play Store.📱
Second, connect the Wi-Spy Air and launch Air Viewer
As easy as:
- Connect the USB-Mini end of the device cable into the Wi-Spy Air
- Connect the opposite end into your device (usually a USB-C, USB-Micro, or Lightning)
- Launch the Air Viewer app
The first time you connect the Wi-Spy Air to an Android device, you will likely be displayed a prompt asking you to set Air Viewer as the main application for Wi-Spy Air. Agree to the prompt and continue on - unless, of course, you enjoy seeing the prompt every time you connect the Wi-Spy Air to your device... 🙃
That's it! Pretty easy. Now, you are equipped to fight bad WiFi!
If you are having trouble connecting the Wi-Spy Air to your device, take a look below at some common issues that may occur and how to resolve them.
I connected the Wi-Spy Air to my device, but nothing happens
If the red light on the Wi-Spy Air does not come on after connecting the Wi-Spy Air and launching Air Viewer, then there may be an issue with the connection.
Make sure you are using a cable that came with the Wi-Spy Air. The cable must be On-The-Go (OTG) equipped in order for the phone to be able to correctly talk to the Wi-Spy Air.
If you are using an Android device, it may be that OTG data transfer is not enabled. Most Android equipped devices allow for OTG by default; but, there are some manufacturers that require a setting to be enabled.
For instance, OnePlus phones running OxygenOS require the "OTG storage" to be enabled within Settings > Advanced.
