Signifi Data Collection
Signifi Agent runs on a user's machine to collect some basic information about the performance of their network. When the user performs a scan, Signifi does a Wi-Fi scan (very similar to how inSSIDer performs a scan), and runs a throughput test. The data is then uploaded to Signifi Cloud, where an administrator (or the user themselves) can see trends over time, and receive analysis on how their network can be improved.
Signifi Collects:
- Basic information about your internet connection
- Public IP address
- Gateway IP address and MAC address
- Upstream and downstream throughput
- Basic information about your access point(s)
- BSSID
- SSID
- Channel
- Signal Strength
- Basic information about nearby access points
- SSID
- BSSID
- Signal Strength
- Channel
- The brand and model of your Wi-Fi adapter
- Which room you selected when you performed the scan
Signifi does NOT Collect:
- What you're doing on your computer
- What websites you visit
- Any internet data sent or received by your computer
Sample Scan Data
If you'd like to see for yourself, you can view a copy of sample scan data. This is a real sample, generated by Signifi Agent. Personally identifiable information, such as SSID's, IP addresses, and MAC addresses have been changed or randomized.
Encryption and Authentication
Signifi Agent and Signifi Cloud require users to authenticate with a username and password. All traffic between Signifi Agent and Signifi Cloud, as well as the Signifi Cloud dashboard at signifi.metageek.com is authenticated and encrypted using TLS 1.2, ECDHE_RSA with X25519, and AES_128_GCM.
